too many

Today we baked Christmas cookies with my sister and cousin N. The little ones loved it, but it was an huge amount of baking. I love to eat Christmas cookies, but making triple batches makes an insane amount of cookies! Needless to say, there will be some gifting of cookies going on.

I know that it is only once a year, but baking with all this white sugar and shortening really goes against the grain, and actually grosses me out. Any good "healthy" cookie recipes out there?

I just love this picture that A took of our window cut-out. I try to think about how things look when setting thing up for him, but I don't always take it into consideration when putting up household decorations. It's nice to get a little reminder of how the world looks to an almost four year old.

Those look lovely Martha! I get bad cravings when I see Christmas cookies, particularly because I was diagnosed with coeliac disease earlier this year which means no more cookies for the rest of my life. :( I will have to find some good gluten-free recipes.

I've been on a Christmas baking binge too, so much more fun to be in the kitchen rather than trailing around the shops.

Those cookies look gorgeous.

Martha,

Check out www.101cookbooks.com for some cookie recipes that use alternative flours and sweeteners. Heidi tests all of the recipes and the ones that I have tried, I have had success with.
